What is the date and location of Charlotte’s Ramble?

Charlotte’s Ramble will take place on Saturday, 23 May 2020 at Spicer’s Hidden Vale in the beautiful suburb of Grandchester located just one hour from Brisbane CBD with room check in available from 2pm and lunch time activities and a Ramble prior.

A full schedule of the day’s activities for participants will be sent prior to the event.

Where does the money I raise go?

All funds raised at Charlotte’s Ramble will be invested into dedicated children’s immunotherapy to conduct desperately needed research to reduce the long-term consequences of childhood cancer treatment and provide the much promised benefits of immunotherapy.

The Children’s Hospital Foundation is working with world leading immunologist, Professor Ian Frazer AC to establish the first dedicated children’s immunotherapy research centre in Australia in 2020 and has already invested vital funds into immunotherapy research projects that have commenced offering hope to patients and families who are faced with a cancer diagnosis.

Why cancer immunotherapy?

For decades, chemotherapy, radiation and surgery have been the mainstays for treating cancer. Sadly, Charlotte was unable to benefit from targeted immunotherapy as part of her treatment so by participating and committing to raise a minimum $3000 or donating you can help Charlotte’s parents honour her legacy in ensuring that in the near future all kids who are facing a cancer diagnosis have the opportunity for less aggressive and more effective treatment options.

What is cancer immunotherapy?

Immunotherapy has become globally recognised as a new cancer movement. Instead of acting on cancer directly, immunotherapies simply unleash the power of a child’s immune system and stop the tricks cancer uses to survive. These powerful therapies come from a patient’s own white blood cells, compared to a drug or non-genetic antibody created artificially.
