A legacy for Lachie

When he was just four months old, Lachie needed Queensland Children's Hospital. Because at just four months and two days old, he went into end-stage kidney failure. The family relocated their entire lives from Toowoomba to Brisbane, so Lachie could get the care and treatment he needed.  

His childhood was been shaped by nightly dialysis, hundreds of hospital stays, surgeries, and a life-saving kidney transplant that failed within 24 hours. 

Sadly little Lachie took his final breath on 26 September 2026, surrounded by familiar faces on the ward, a ward he had spent so much of his life on, lovingly wrapped up in the arms of his mother and father, surrounded by family.  

His mother, Bec, wanted us to continue to share Lachie’s story in the hope that it would inspire your gift today.

A gift that will help other kids, just like their little Lachie - funding programs that bring joy and support to families today, and research that will change their tomorrows. 

Throughout his life, Lachie spent many Christmases in hospital. The joy the Foundation brought their family during some of their hardest days was something they will never forget.
