By making hospital feel more like home, you’ll help sick kids get home sooner.
Every year, one in three families travel to Queensland Children’s Hospital from regional and remote areas.
They leave behind their homes, jobs and support networks - often for months or even years - so their child can receive the critical care they need.
For families like Georgia’s, hospital becomes a second home. But without familiar comforts, it can be overwhelming and isolating. That’s where you come in.
Help make hospital feel more like home for these sick kids.
Your gift helps provide vital support programs - from emotional and financial assistance to therapy programs and family accommodation - so the next sick kid feels safe, supported and comfortable during treatment.
Georgia’s fight for survival
Before Georgia was born, doctors discovered she had only half a heart. She would have to fight to survive.
But her mum, Larissa, refused to give up. At 36 weeks pregnant, she uprooted her family and moved to Brisbane to give Georgia a fighting chance.
At just a few days old, Georgia had her first of three open-heart surgeries. It was the beginning of a long and difficult journey.
But families like hers don’t have to face it alone.

How your donation makes an impact
Being far from home, without work or support networks, adds enormous financial and emotional stress to families facing the hardest time of their lives.
But with accommodation, emotional care and practical assistance, families like Georgia’s feel less overwhelmed. They cope better and can focus on what matters most - caring for their sick child.
Your gift can help families stay strong, connected and focused on what matters most – being there for their child.
Give today to make hospital feel more like home. So sick kids like Georgia have every chance to thrive and get home sooner.
