I am fundraising for the Children's Hospital Foundation!
On November 10th, we will celebrate our son, Rafael's 5th birthday. When Rafael came into the world, we were completely unaware of the challenges our little baby would face. Rafael was born unable to swallow - a rare birth defect known as tracheoesophageal fistula, a condition where the oesophagus is not connect to the stomach. At just 24hours old, Rafael underwent 4 hours of life-saving surgery at the Queensland Children's Hospital. Our resilient little Lion Heart went on to undergo 12 surgeries within his first three years, all performed at QCH.
Five years have passed, and we owe an immeasurable amount of gratitude to the devoted Doctors and Nurses who saved our son's life but continue to provide us with exceptional care. Today, our beautiful dinosaur enthusiast is thriving, and from the outside, you would ever know the challenges he has overcome.
As we celebrate Rafael's 5th birthday, our aim is to raise as much money as possible for the Queensland Children's Hospital, as a small way of giving back.
We understand that not everyone may be in a position to contribute, but even the smallest donation can make a significant difference.
