The difference every kid deserves at Christmas!

Christmas is often the most magical time of the year for children, marked with advent calendars and days left until Santa’s arrival. For children in hospital, the season can blend into bedside charts, upcoming appointments and days left until their final scan, test or surgery.

For sick kids and their families the most precious gifts don’t come neatly wrapped, they come from knowing people like you are standing with them through the toughest times, From the suburbs to the cities, rural, regional and remote, helping all kids, not just some. The many, not the few.

ALH Group has been supporting the Children's Hospital Foundation for more than 10 years, raising over $1.6 million in that time. You’re back this Christmas, fundraising for your community after a record fundraising year in 2022, raising more than $250,000 for sick kids.

Your support has meant 10 years of helping to fund cutting-edge equipment, vital research and on the ground support for kids with all illnesses, injuries and conditions, across Queensland and northern NSW.

You can be the difference kids like Raf deserve.

For the past two years, nine-year-old Raf has endured more than any child should. In 2021 he was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma, one of the most aggressive forms of childhood cancer.

“Raf’s faced a long and hard journey since his diagnosis – he lost his hair, was isolated to his room due to his compromised immune system for most of 2021 and 2022. On some days, Raf could barely muster a smile.

When we were in hospital, the Foundation helped us out. We were in limbo for a long time, and we didn’t know if Raf would make it, but the Children’s Hospital Foundation made sure we stayed as positive as possible.

His treatment has included chemotherapy and radiation, surgeries, stem cell harvests and transplants and a type of immunotherapy medication, Dinutuximab.

If it was not for his immunotherapy medication, Raf may not have achieved the same outcomes that he has today. After 21 months, he recently received a successful remission outcome and finished his last round of treatment."

2023 ALH Christmas Appeal

When? The official fundraising season kicks off on Wednesday 8 November and runs until the end of 2023.

Why?With your support, Christmas can still be the season for hopes, dreams and even miracles for kids in hospital.

“We know Christmas can be an extra challenging time for families in hospital – these people are away from their loved ones and away from normality. Our priority at the Children’s Hospital Foundation is helping make people smile and bringing joy to families in hospital.

Every child deserves to experience the wonder and delight of Christmas. Thanks to the generosity of our community supporters like ALH, we can brighten the lives of sick children and young people this Christmas.

For families in hospital, Christmas can still be the season for hopes, dreams and even miracles. Thanks to your generosity at ALH, these families can hope for moments of joy in hospital, hope for a new treatment to ease some of their child’s pain and hope for a cure.”
