Last year, Queensland Children’s Hospital treated more than 1,150 children for burns injuries. Over one-third of these children required surgery for their injuries.

The Queensland Fire Department Bike 4 Burns charity bike ride raises funds for the Children's Hospital Foundation. Funds raised through this ride helps to ensure kids with burns have access to the best possible care and treatment – while promoting a healthy lifestyle for emergency services staff. Your generosity makes a powerful difference enabling the Children’s Hospital Foundation to fund life changing research, necessary equipment and on the ground support for children with burns and their families.

Every dollar raised through Bike 4 Burns helps us support kids who are dealing with the very real and ongoing pain and trauma from burns injuries. Thanks to your ongoing support over the past 20 years, the Pegg Leditschke Children’s Burns Centre at Queensland Children’s Hospital has transformed the lives of more than 10,000 young patients and continues to lead the way in burns treatment and care.

This year's ride – the 20th anniversary ride - will begin on 12 May in Bundaberg and finish at the Queensland Children’s Hospital on 18 May.  The ride will cover over 800 kilometres over seven days on a journey from Bundaberg to Gin Gin, Biggenden, Murgon, Maidenwell, Toowoomba, Ipswich and finishing at Queensland Children’s Hospital in South Brisbane.
