Cobeys Bike Ride

Cobeys bike ride to raise money for Sick Children, lets do what we can.

Hey everybody, Cobey, and I will be riding approximately 35km from Caloundra to Mooloolaba to raise money for the Queensland Children's Hospital.

Last year, Cobey was diagnosed with a brain tumour. It was the toughest period Cobey or our family has ever faced. Thanks to the incredible care, support and treatment he received, we feel unbelievably lucky to have him home with us today.

This ride will take place on 24th October exactly one year to the day since Cobey's brain tumour surgery, making it a particularly meaningful milestone and chance to reflect on how far he has come.

Cobey was always upbeat and positive while in hospital, maintaining his funny little character and often having the doctors and nurses laughing. He was more concerned about the children around him than himself, always wanting to help them or buy them little treats and gifts. He's got a heart of gold, which is one of the reasons he's asked to take on this challenge.

While we feel incredibly fortunate, our time at the hospital opened our eyes to the reality that not every child and family receives the outcome we did.  We met children fighting unimaginable battles and parents facing the hardest days of their lives. Those experiences have had a lasting impact on me, my wife Sarah, and especially, Cobey.

We want to give something back to the hospital that gave so much to us and help support children and families who are currently facing their own challenges. When you're spending every minute focused on your child, the support services, facilities, care and simple acts of kindness mean more than words can describe.

Every dollar raised will go towards helping children and families who need that support most.
