BNE A-Z 190

My Activity Tracking

390
kms

My target 1000 kms

I am taking on a challenge for the Children's Hospital Foundation.

Over the course of 2026, I’m taking on the BNE A-Z 190, a massive running challenge to support the incredible work of the Children’s Hospital Foundation.
My goal is to run through every single one of the 190 suburbs within the Brisbane City Council area.
To make it even tougher, I’m tackling them in strict alphabetical order—from Acacia Ridge to Zillmere—clocking a minimum of 5km in every single suburb.

This journey isn't just about the distance; it’s about navigating the unique hills, streets, and trails of our entire city to help give sick kids the best possible start in life.

Whether it’s fitting in a run before or after work or hitting the pavement on weekends, every step I take is a step toward raising vital funds for life-saving medical research, equipment, and support programs for patients and their families.

The sneakers are laced, the map is ready, and the mission is clear: 190 suburbs, 26 letters, and one massive goal. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a genuine difference to the kids who need it most. Thank you for following along and for your generous support as I run the alphabet for a cause that truly matters.

Q and A

Sunday 11th Jan
Q. What Suburbs are Included?
A. All Suburbs of the Brisbane City Council Area only, So it won't include any Suburbs in Redlands, Logan, Ipswich or Moreton Bay Regional councils.

Q. Why??
A. It started as a Personal Challenge and evolved form there. I wanted to explore parts of Brisbane that I haven't been to before.

Q, Am I doing it all at once?
A. No, 190 Suburb x minimum 5km in each is 950km, plus additional kms if I link Suburbs together, That would be a whole new Challenge. The challenge will be for the Entire Year, realistically hoping to Finish the week before Christmas 2026

Q. Will I be doing any other running besides the 190 Suburbs?
A. Yes, I have some events that I'm looking at entering, outside of this challenge, so will need to add in some runs to train specifically for those events.

Q, Am I running with a team, or group?
A. Currently no, I work full time, so have to fit runs in around work, so it's hard to navigate group runs at specific times, But, I will hopefully get out to some group runs with some clubs and I'm always happy for people to join me.

Q.

What is the BNE A-Z 190 Challenge?

Sunday 11th Jan

The BNE A-Z 190 Challenge
A geographical and physical undertaking to run or walk 190 Brisbane suburbs in alphabetical order (A through Z).

This is more than a fitness goal; it’s an exploration of the city’s footprint, from the dense CBD to the coastal reaches.
To ensure the integrity of the challenge the following five rules apply:
1. Every suburb requires a minimum 5km GPS-tracked run within its boundaries.
2.
You cannot "bank" a suburb out of order. If I run in Zillmere while on the letter A, it does not count.

It means if I’m running in Albion and accidentally cross the street into Clayfield, that Clayfield run doesn't count yet. I’ll have to come back weeks later and do it again once I've cleared the rest of the A's and B's.

3.
While on a specific letter (e.g., "The C's"), I can complete the suburbs in any order that makes geographical sense.
I can run from Acacia Ridge to Algester on 1 day and then Albion to Ascot another day and it still counts even though Albion is before Algester.

4. If a run crosses between two suburbs of the same letter, I must clock 5km in each for both to count.

5.Moreton Island has many small Localities within the Island, Bulwer, Cowan Cowan, Kooringal and Tangalooma this can be expensive and extremely tricky logistically.
The Plan is to count these under the letter M for Moreton Island, these Individual Towns can be done in any order, but must be completed under the Letter M
