Where will we be trekking?

The Larapinta Trail is not just a walk – it’s a serious test of endurance on ancient Country. You’ll cross rugged escarpments, navigate loose rock underfoot and climb steep ridgelines across the Tjoritja / West MacDonnell Ranges.

You’ll walk sacred Arrernte lands and summit Mt Sonder (Rwetyepme) before dawn to see the desert wake below you. The days are long and the trail demands effort, focus and grit.

At night, you’ll return to a remote campsite deep in the ranges. No phone reception, no distractions, just a tent, a shared meal and the calming silence of the outback. You’ll sleep tired, ache in places you didn’t expect and rise to do it all over again.

add remove

By registering for Trek for Sick Kids, you commit to raising a minimum of $15,000. Every dollar supports Queensland’s sickest children, including kids like four-year-old Lachlan, who is living with chronic kidney disease.

Together with fellow trekkers, you’ll play a vital role in funding research, life-saving equipment, and family support programs through the Children’s Hospital Foundation. This fundraising is not optional, it’s central to the impact we can achieve for kids and families facing their toughest battles.

Raising $15,000 is achievable. Start by sharing your fundraising page, sending personal messages to friends and family, or posting on social media. Break it down: 300 people giving $50 each gets you there.

Our team will guide you every step of the way, providing tools, ideas, and one-on-one support. For help or advice, contact us at fundraise@childrens.org.au
