Tips & Tools
Want to get the most out of your fundraising?
Start by sharing WHY you’re doing this. When people hear your story, why you care, what this trek means, they give.
Here's some ideas to get you started. We've also got heaps of resources below to assist you, however if there's something specific you need please reach out to the team on 07 3606 6100 or fundraise@childrens.org.au
Jazz up your fundraising page
Make your fundraising page your own - people like to know your story, what you are doing and why you are doing it. Profile pictures and regular updates keep people involved in your journey.
Start a trend and donate to yourself
Lead the way and add a donation to yourself first to show your commitment as well as encouraging others to support you!
Ask your friends for support
If just 10 friends, family members or colleagues give $100 each, that's $1,000!
Update your socials
Post a link, create a reel/story or send out a tweet to let all your friends and associates know what you are doing.
Update your emails
Update your email signature with our personalised email signatures. Email everyone you know and tell them what you’re planning and how they can support you!
Workplace dollar matching
Ask your workplace if they are able to help support by matching every dollar you raise.
Host a fundraising event
Whether held in person or online, fundraising events are a fun and effective way to raise money and awareness. You could run a bake stall, car wash, trivia night, long lunch, movie night, bingo night, raffle, lucky numbers game, or a workplace morning tea.
Another simple idea is to swap gifts for donations – ask friends and family to contribute to your fundraising page instead of buying presents for birthdays or celebrations.
Corporate sponsorship
Boost your fundraising by offering logo placements on your trekking gear. Supporters or businesses can sponsor spots on your clothing or pack, gaining visibility while backing your challenge. Prime positions include arms, chest, or backpack. To increase impact, create tiered options such as gold, silver, and bronze packages. Depending on placement, sponsorships can range from a few hundred dollars to several thousand. It’s a simple, effective way to raise more while giving your supporters recognition along the trek.
