Take on one of Australia’s most iconic endurance challenges and change lives along the way. Trek for Sick Kids is a six-day, 66km adventure across the Larapinta Trail in the West MacDonnell Ranges. You’ll rise before dawn, climb rugged ridgelines, cross ancient escarpments and fall asleep under a desert sky. It’s tough, unforgettable, and every step matters.

This trek isn’t just about the challenge. It’s about purpose. Each participant commits to raising $15,000 for the Children’s Hospital Foundation – funding vital medical research, life-saving equipment, and practical support for families in hospital. You’ll be walking for kids like Lachlan, who has faced chronic kidney disease since birth, and for every Queensland child who needs specialist care.

You don’t need to be an elite athlete – just prepared, determined, and ready to test yourself. Along the way you’ll be backed by expert guides, a supportive fundraising team, and a group of like-minded trekkers.

Supporting kids like Lachlan

On the outside four-year-old Lachlan looks like a happy, healthy boy, but behind the smiles, he faces an ongoing and life-threatening battle. Lachlan was born with chronic kidney disease and at just four months old, he went into end stage renal failure.

Through your fundraising, you’ll directly support the Children’s Hospital Foundation’s work right across Queensland, for kids like Lachlan.
